how do I apply?

You can apply by filling an application form and you will need to ask your teacher for a reference too. When we have received these we will contact you to arrange an audition.

Auditions can take place throughout the year. Students who are unable to travel to London may be able to audition by submitting a video.

what happens at the audition?

Applicants are asked to present two contrasting pieces of a standard at least equivalent to grade VII which you feel will best display your strenths and capabilities. You will be given some sight-reading, and may be asked to participate in aural exercises or to play scales and arpeggios. A pianist will usually be available.

which courses can I attend?

Having successfully auditioned, students can chose which courses to attend. Courses are run at times when most people are on holiday, but as each local authority sets its own term dates it isn't possible to please everyone. Some students may opt to miss a few days of their school term to attend courses.
